Dr. Michael Fernandez

Dr. Michael E. Fernandez is a seasoned Mediator, Consultant, and Executive Coach with over 30 years of experience transforming supply chains, strengthening organizations, and developing high-performing teams. Through his firm, MBFernandez Enterprises, LLC, Michael helps businesses and leaders navigate the complexities of supply chain operations, negotiations, conflict management, supplier relationships, and organizational change.

Michael holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Capella University, where his dissertation examined how emotional intelligence and other factors predict conflict management styles among supply chain teams. He also earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Law/American Jurisprudence from the University of Houston–Clear Lake. Additionally, he completed coursework toward his law degree at South Texas College of Law.

His professional expertise spans:

  • Manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics strategy and processes

  • Managing supplier relationships, selection processes, and pre- and post-contracting, compliance, risk, and training

  • Leadership and team building

  • Conflict management and resolution, and mediation

  • Coaching and mentoring

Throughout his career, Michael has served in leadership roles with global companies, including Baker Hughes, where he led global supplier relationship management, supplier diversity programs, and multimodal logistics operations. He has also developed and launched degree programs in supply chain management, logistics, and business management as a Department Chair and Instructor in higher education.

Outside of his consulting and academic work, Michael is actively involved in the community. He has served on the Keep Friendswood Beautiful Committee, the Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals, and numerous volunteer and child advocacy initiatives.

Brandee J. Fernandez is an accomplished supply chain executive and strategic sourcing leader with over 25 years of experience driving operational excellence, sustainability, and innovation across global procurement functions. In her current role as Senior Sourcing Sustainability Manager at Baker Hughes, she leads enterprise-wide initiatives in supplier governance, multi-tier risk management, and Scope 3 emissions measurement—helping to shape a more transparent and sustainable supply chain network.

Renowned for delivering multimillion-dollar cost savings, enhancing supplier engagement, and integrating ESG priorities into procurement strategy, Brandee has earned a reputation for aligning operational goals with environmental responsibility. Her expertise encompasses supplier relationship management, contract strategy, emissions analytics, and leadership of sustainability programs. She is a frequent speaker and mentor in the supply chain field, known for advancing best practices across industry and academia.

Brandee holds an MBA from Oklahoma State University and is currently completing her Executive Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at the University of Houston. Her doctoral research focuses on supplier transparency and emissions, critical areas in the evolution of sustainable supply chain management.

Outside of her professional work, Brandee is deeply committed to mentorship and community service. She volunteers with local schools, mentors both college students and emerging leaders at Baker Hughes, and enjoys international travel, fitness, family time, and lifelong learning.
